The Sense Retreat

October 10, 2025 @ 4:00 pm (BST) - October 14, 2025 @ 10:00 am (BST)

The SENSE Retreat is a four-night immersive experience at Broughton Sanctuary in Yorkshire, created for those who sense and feel the world deeply. It is a space to rest, to discover, and to belong. It is founded by Alef Trust alumna Kirsty Allan, and facilitators include Alef Trust’s co-director Jessica Bockler.

Here, sensitivity is recognised as a gift—empathy, intuition, imagination, and creativity become sources of strength and awareness rather than traits to hide or suppress. Through a carefully held programme blending arts, science, somatics, philosophy, and nature-based practices, participants are invited into both restorative solitude and nourishing connection.

The retreat is neuroinclusive and welcomes people who identify as highly sensitive, empathic, creative, or neurodivergent, as well as those simply drawn to depth and authenticity. Diversity of experience is celebrated, and participants are supported to meet themselves and each other with compassion.

Acknowledging that sensitivity can bring challenges—overwhelm, feeling “too much,” or not fitting in—the retreat takes a trauma-informed approach, offering gentle guidance into awareness and growth.

Workshops and immersive practices include sound baths, fire meditation, creative expression, and time in nature, alongside dialogue and reflection. Together, participants will honour their stories, cultivate self-understanding, and celebrate sensitivity as a vital force for personal and collective flourishing.
